PHN appoints Libby Dunstan as Deputy CEO
Brisbane North PHN has appointed Libby Dunstan to the position of Deputy CEO.
Libby has over 20 years' experience and expertise in senior health leadership roles, most recently as the State Manager for Queensland and the Northern Territory at the Stroke Foundation.
While at the Stroke Foundation, Libby secured over $5 million in funding to support key programs and services, which resulted in significant organisational growth.
She has a proven record of leading programs that focus on system reform, health care integration and quality improvement, both at the Stroke Foundation and in her previous role as Business Manager for CheckUP.
Announcing the appointment, Brisbane North PHN Chief Executive Abbe Anderson said the Deputy CEO position would play an important role in leading core PHN program areas, including hospital integration and primary care support.
“Libby’s background and experience make her an ideal candidate for this role. I am looking forward to working with her in the leadership of our organisation,” Ms Anderson said.
“One of Libby’s key strengths is stakeholder engagement and she has a history of building partnerships and collaborations that deliver results,” she said.
Reflecting on her appointment, Libby said she was delighted to be in a leadership role with the PHN, where her expertise would be helping achieve its vision of a community where good health is available for everyone.
“I am excited about the opportunity this role presents to work with Brisbane North PHN,” Ms Dunstan said.
“I have a genuine passion for primary healthcare and improving health systems to deliver better outcomes for patients and their families,” she said.
Libby was selected for the Deputy CEO position following a highly competitive recruitment process and will join the PHN in late August 2017.
