New Chief Executive for Metro North HHS
The appointment of Mr Shaun Drummond as Metro North Hospital and Health Service (HHS) Chief Executive will provide the experience needed to maintain momentum on key healthcare reform projects, says Brisbane North PHN Chief Executive Abbe Anderson.
“I look forward to working with Mr Drummond on health system priorities that have been jointly agreed with the HHS, including healthcare for frail older people and improved chronic disease care,” Ms Anderson said.
“I am particularly optimistic for the potential of our Health Alliance, headed up by General Manager Professor Don Matheson, in leading this important reform work.
“Mr Drummond has a deep understanding of the unique relationship between our two organisations and we are grateful for his ongoing support,” Ms Anderson said.
Metro North HHS Board Chair Dr Robert Stable AM announced on Friday, 29 September 2017, that Health Minister Cameron Dick had approved Mr Drummond’s appointment.
“The Appointment Panel was impressed with the quality of the shortlisted applicants but felt that Mr Drummond’s understanding of the health system and the challenges that it faces, especially as a Hospital and Health Service and across the breadth of the HHS, was superior to the other interviewees,” Dr Stable said.
Mr Drummond had previously served in the role of Executive Director Operations and more recently as the Acting Chief Executive.
